Costume Designer
Born in Bristol, Great Britain. Studied at the West of England College of Art in Bristol. Made his professional debut in Zeffirelli´s production of Romeo and Juliet at the English National Opera in 1959. He has subsequently worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the American Ballet Theatre, the Chicago Lyric Opera, Covent Garden (costumes for Otello, Simon Boccanegra and Stiffelio) and the Metropolitan Opera (costumes for Aida, La bohème, Boris Godunov, Ernani, La forza del destino, Lohengrin, Otello, I puritani, Tosca, Un ballo in maschera and Die Fledermaus).
At the Dallas Opera he has designed over forty productions. He has worked in major cities such as Milan (La Scala), Vienna (Staatsoper), Buenos Aires, Sidney, Venice and Rome. He has received awards in the USA, Italy and Argentina.
