Vyacheslav Kruglik was born in St Petersburg. Graduated from the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov School of Music (trombone class of Boris Vinogradov and composition class of Alexander Nesterov). From 1996–2001 he studied at the faculty of composition of the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Boris Tishchenko). Graduated with distinction from the conservatoire, continuing as a postgraduate student (2001–2004).
Has taken part in the festivals Youth Academies of Russia, The Arena, Stars of the White Nights, New Horizons, Brass Evenings at the Mariinsky, St Petersburg Musical Spring and the Moscow Easter Festival. On several occasions he has taken part in the conference Laboratory of 21st Century Musical Theatre in Sochi. In 2005 he was a prize-winner at the All-Russian Competition of the Mariinsky Theatre as the creator of the one-act opera The Carriage after Gogol, the world premiere of which took place in April 2009 under Valery Gergiev. Kruglik's ballet The Magic Ring, composed in collaboration with Svetlana Nesterova, took 1st prize at the competiotion of the Bolshoi Theatre and the Union of Theatre Workers for the creation of an operatic and dance work for children and young people (2008).
Member of the Union of Composers of St Petersburg, member of the board of the St Petersburg Music Foundation, senior lecturer at the faculty of orchestral conducting of the St Petersburg Cultural Institute and jury member of various All-Russian and international competitions.
His compositions include an Orchestra Symphony (2000), the orchestral suite A Time to Live and a Time to Die (2010), the overture Princess Olga (2012), Concerto for Trombone and Strings (2012), the opera The Speculator after Zoshchenko's tale Don't Speculate (2013), Concerto for Trumpet and Strings (2014), Concerto for Balalaika and Russian Folk Instrument Orchestra (2016), Sonata for Domra and Piano (2016) and Concerto for Violin and Symphony Orchestra (2017).
