Max’s Vivaldi Recomposed for Deutsche Grammophon, recorded by British violinist Daniel Hope and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, topped iTunes Classical Charts worldwide and is currently touring internationally. He has collaborated widely, including projects with Tilda Swinton, Hilary Hahn, Robert Wyatt, Future Sound of London, Roni Size and, most recently, rAndom International, whose work Rain Room set attendance records at London’s Barbican Centre and is currently showing at MOMA.
Film makers using works by Max include Martin Scorsese (Shutter Island), Marc Forster (Stranger than Fiction) and Isabel Coixet (Map of the Sounds of Tokyo).
Max’s powerfully affecting music has also become something of a standby for film-trailer makers seeking to evoke a grand narrative at speed. Recent examples include David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and Terrence Malick’s To the Wonder.
Forthcoming projects include several film scores, a new work for the Royal Ballet and Wayne McGregor and a new solo album.
