Konstantin Rylov was born in Perm in 1984. In 2003 he graduated from St Petersburg’s Glinka Choir College, and in 2008 he graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Tatiana Khitrova).

As a second-year student in 2004 Konstantin joined the Mariinsky Theatre, where since 2010 he has combined the positions of artist and director. Since 2013 he has been a chorus master of the Mariinsky Theatre. Since 2021 Konstantin Rylov serves as its Principal Chorus Master.

Has been involved in productions of War and Peace (2014), Eugene Onegin (2014), The Golden Cockerel (2014), Les Troyens (2014), The Queen of Spades (2015), A Christmas Tale (2015), The Love for Three Oranges (2016, 2022), Samson et Dalila (2016), Simon Boccanegra (2016), I vespri siciliani (2017), Tannhäuser (2019), Pelléas et Mélisande (2019), The Snow Maiden (2020), Otello (2022), The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya (2022).
Under the baton of Konstantin Rylov the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre has hosted performances of Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vespers, Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky, Shostakovich’s The Execution of Stepan Razin, Gavrilin’s Chimes, Shchedrin’s operas Boyarina Morozova and The Enchanted Wanderer, Bach’s Weihnachts-Oratorium (Christmas Oratorio) (parts I–III and VI), Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Liszt’s and Lloyd Webber’s Requiems, Orff’s stage cantata Carmina Burana.
