Antonia Shestakova


Costume designer (costume technologist)

Antonia Shestakova graduated from the Faculty of Scenography and Theatre Technology of St Petersburg’s Russian State Institute of Performing Arts.

She later worked as a costume designer at the St Petersburg State Theatre of Musical Comedy and contributed to costume production at the Alexandrinsky Theatre, the Akimov Comedy Theatre and the Priyut Komedianta theatre (all in St Petersburg).

Since 2017 Antonia Shestakova has served as Lead Costume Technologist at the Mariinsky Theatre. Has worked on numerous productions, including the operas Otello by Verdi, The Tsar’s Bride, Lucia di Lammermoor, The Love for Three Oranges, The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya, the operetta Die Fledermaus and the ballets Don Quixote, Seven Sonatas, Daphnis et Chloé and Push Comes to Shove. As the costume designer (costume technologist) she prepared the productions Lakmé (2021), Nabucco and Die Entführung aus dem Serail (2023), The Golden Cockerel (2025) and Idomeneo, rè di Creta (2026).

At the Mariinsky Theatre’s Primorsky Stage she also contributed – as the costume technologist – to productions of the ballets La Bayadère, Don Quixote, Visions fugitives and Daphnis et Chloé.
