In 1977, Tatiana Parfionova graduated from the Leningrad Serov Art College (the St Roerich Art College since 1992), while in 1990 she graduated from the Moscow Technological University. In 1988, Parfionova became a prize-winner of the Intermoda Competition in Czechoslovakia, while in 1989 she won a prize at the young designers’ competition in London. Parfionova gained recognition in the early 1990s with collections inspired by avant-garde artists of the early 20th century. In 1995, Tatiana Parfionova founded her own fashion house.
