Born in Leningrad. Graduated from the St Petersburg Academy of Theatre Art, specialising as a musical theatre designer (set design department, class of Vyacheslav Okunev). He informally attended the St Petersburg Repin Academy of Arts (set design department, class of Eduard Kochergin).
Since 2010 he has been the Principal Designer of the Omsk State Musical Theatre. As a production designer he has worked on over forty productions at theatres in Russia and throughout Europe.
At the Omsk State Musical Theatre to mark two centuries of Nikolai Gogol he worked on the ballets The Overcoat (ballet-master – Vladimir Romanovsky, choreographer Nadezhda Kalinina; this production received a gold diploma at The Golden Knight festival in the category “Theatre – Major Form”), Morozko (ballet-mistress – Nadezhda Kitayeva), Bright Sadness to music by Valery Gavrilin (ballet-master – Gali Abaidulov), Anna Karenina to music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky (ballet-master Dmitry Genus) and Naked Tango, the operas The Captive of Omsk (composer – Andrei Semyonov, stage director – N. Skorik), Georges Bizet’s Carmen (stage director – N. Pokotylo), the musical The Open Couple after the play by Dario Fo (composer – Mark Samoilov, stage director Olga Chichilanova), musical versions of Eight Women (composer – Alexander Zhurbin, stage director – N. Pokotylo), Guilty without Guilt after Nikolai Ostrovsky (stage director – V. Podgorodinsky, choreographer – Nadezhda Kalinina) and The Taming of the Shrew (stage director – K. Strezhnev).
For the St Petersburg theatre company Open Space he designed Andrei Ivanovich Comes Home (stage director – R. Garbia).
For the St Petersburg State Academic Yakobson Ballet Theatre he designed the ballet A Chamber History (choreographer – Dmitry Genus).
For the St Petersburg State Musical Comedy Theatre he designed The Secret Garden (composer – Sergei Banevich, stage director – A. Osipenko; this production was nominated in several categories at the festival St Petersburg Theatres for Children).
For the St Petersburg State Music Hall Theatre he designed the ballet Mowgli (choreographer – Vladimir Romanovsky; this production was nominated in several categories at the festival St Petersburg Theatres for Children).
For the State Theatre of Opera and Ballet of the Urdmutia Republic he designed the ballet Don Quixote (composer – Ludwig Minkus; choreographer N. Markelov).
For the Ryazan Musical Theatre he designed the musical Tom Sawyer (composer – Sergei Banevich, stage director – A. Osipenko).
For the Musical Theatre of the Republic of Karelia he designed the ballet The Little Humpbacked Horse (composer – Rodion Shchedrin, ballet-mistress – Nadezhda Kalinina).
For the St Petersburg Workshop theatre he designed Once in Elsinore. HAMLET after Shakespeare (composer – Rodion Shchedrin, choreographer – Nadezhda Kalinina).
For the St Petersburg Workshop theatre he created the designs for Once in Elsinore. HAMLET after Shakespeare (stage director – R. Garbia).
For the St Petersburg Synthesis Theatre Project he designed a production of Lolita (stage director – R. Garbia) and the play La Voix humaine by Jean Cocteau at the new stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre (stage director – D. Turkov).
At the Štátna Opera of Banská Bystrica (Slovakia) he has designed the opera Eugene Onegin; stage director – A. Osipenko).
At the Zazerkalye St Petersburg State Children’s Music Theatre he has designed the musical Kroshechka-Khavroshechka (composer – A. Bespalova, stage director Olga Chichilanova).
For the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire he has designed such students projects as A Child and Magic, Kashchei the Immortal, Tosca and Il barbiere di Siviglia.
