Eduard Belmar was born in Mallorca in 1992. He endorsed by impeccable academic training with Vicens Prats at Barcelona’s Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, later with Sophie Cherrier and Vincent Lucas at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et danse de Paris and also under the supervision of Professor Davide Formisano at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. Subsequently he concluded his musical education with Professor Felix Renggli at the Hochschule für Musik Basel.
Has taken part in several international contests in Spain, Italy and Germany, including the ARD Music Competition (Munich, 2015; 3rd prize).
Has performed at the Pablo Casals Festival (Prades, France), the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the festivals La Folle Journée de Nantes (France) and DeltaChamber (Amposta, Spain). Has appeared with such conductors as Christoph Eschenbach, Manfred Honeck and Michael Sanderling.
Has collaborated with the Orchestre de Paris, the Münchner Philharmoniker, the WDR Sinfonieorchester (Köln), the Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), the SWR Sinfonieorchester (Stuttgart), the hr-Sinfonieorchester (Frankfurt), the Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin, the Göteborgs Symfoniker, the Gewandhausorchester (Leipzig), the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester (Hamburg) and, as a soloist, with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and the Münchener Kammerorchester.
From 2014 to 2016 he was Principal Flutist at the Badische Staatskapelle (Karlsruhe, Germany). Since 2016 Eduard Belmar has been Principal Flutist at the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester. Simultaneously, since 2022, he has been a member of the Bayreuther Festspielorchester.
Since 2018 Eduard Belmar has played in a duo with pianist Yuko Mizutani; in 2021 they recorded the album Bouquet d’impréssions with works by Claude Debussy, Philippe Gaubert, André Caplet and Mel (Mélanie Hélène) Bonis.
Since 2020 he has been an associate teacher at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt.
