Timofey Dolya was born in 1993 in Moscow. In 2017 he graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (class of Andrei Pisarev; was given the title “The best graduate of 2017”), and in 2019 he completed an assistant traineeship there in the class of the same teacher. Also studied at the Aspen Music Festival and School (USA, 2014) and the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Gioachino Rossini” di Pesaro (Italy, 2016; class of Bruno Bizzarri). From 2019 to 2022 the artist improved his skills at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (class of Jan Jiracek von Arnim). Since 2022 he has been studying at the Imola Piano Academy (Italy; class of Boris Petrushansky) and the Kunstuniversität Graz (Austria; class of Markus Schirmer). Has taken part in masterclasses given by Sergei Dorensky, Dmitri Bashkirov, Alexander Sandler, Michel Béroff, Akiko Ebi, Noriko Ogawa, Arie Vardi, Stephen Kovacevich, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Joaquín Soriano, Wojciech Świtała, Pavel Nersessian, Alexander Mndoyants and Miroslav Kultyshev.
Prize-winner at the International Rachmaninoff Competition for Young Pianists (Frankfurt, 2013; 2nd prize and special prize), the Märkische Musiktage (Eggersdorf, Germany, 2014; 1st prize), the International Piano Competition in memoriam of Vera Lotar-Shevchenko (Yekaterinburg, 2016; 2nd prize), the Coimbra World Piano Competition (Portugal, 2016; 2nd prize), the PIANALE International Piano Academy & Competition (Fulda, Germany, 2016; 1st prize and five special prizes), the International Contest and Festival of Young Pianists named after K.N. Igumnov (Lipetsk, 2016; 1st prize), the All-Russian Music Competition (Moscow, 2018; Krasnoyarsk, 2022; 3rd prizes), the International Piano Competition City of Vigo (Spain, 2020; 2nd prize), the Rudolf Kehrer International Piano Competition (Moscow, 2021; Grand Prix), the International Piano Competition Euregio Piano Award (Geilenkirchen, Germany, 2022; 3rd prize) and the International Piano Competition Clamo Music (Murcia, Spain, 2023; 3rd prize). He was a recipient of the Rector of the Moscow Conservatory Grant and a Russian Presidential Grant for artistic young people.
Has performed in Russia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, Slovakia, Serbia, the USA, Japan and Moldova. Has taken part in the George Enescu Festival (Bucharest), the Mariinsky International Piano Festival, the Bayreuth Piano Festival, the Gradus ad Parnassum festival (Moscow) and the Winter International Arts Festival in Sochi. Has played with the Mariinsky Orchestra, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia (Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra), the State Symphony Orchestra Novaya Rossiya, the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, the St Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Brandenburger Symphoniker, the Lipetsk Symphony Orchestra and the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra among others. Has collaborated with the conductors Vladimir Fedoseyev, Alexander Titov, Alexander Sidnev, Ulrich Kern, Alexander Skulsky, Alexei Aslanov, Alexander Kantorov, Konstantin Barkov and Alexey Dorkin.
Participant in programmes of the St Petersburg Music House since 2017.
He is a music artist with KNS Classical. In 2017 Timofey Dolya released his debut disc with that company – a recording of works by Schubert and Prokofiev.
