Stanislav Korchagin was born in 1993 in Moscow Region. Since 2011 he has been studying under the guidance of Tatiana Zelikman, a professor of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (Moscow). In 2014 Stanislav graduated from the Chopin Moscow State College of Musical Performance, in 2020 – from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, and in 2022 he completed an assistant traineeship at the academy. Participated in masterclasses held by Graham Scott, Rafael Salinas, Carlo Grante and Michael Wladkowski.
Winner of the Moscow Regional Open Piano Competition named after S.S. Prokofiev (Pushkino, 2011), the Moscow Music Festival Virtuosi (2013) and the International Competition-Show of Art Musical Improvisation ImproClassic (Moscow, 2019). Laureate of the Moscow International Fryderyk Chopin Competition for Young Pianists (2010; 4th prize), the All-Russian Music Competition (Krasnoyarsk, 2022; 2nd prize), the International Piano Competition held by the Spanish Branch of the World Piano Teachers Association (Madrid, 2022; 4th prize), the Piano Competition of the Mimas Music Festival (island of Procida, Italy, 2022) and the International Piano Competition A. Scriabin (Grosseto, Italy, 2023; 2nd prize and Audience Award). Diploma recipient at the International Piano Competition in memory of Vera Lotar-Shevchenko (Yekaterinburg, 2018). At the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow – St Petersburg, 2023) he received 3rd prize and the Bronze Medal.
Has appeared at the Grand, Small and Rachmaninoff halls of the Moscow Conservatory, the Moscow International Performing Arts Centre, the Yaroslavl State Philharmonic and other venues. In 2016 Stanislav Korchagin took part in the Mariinsky International Piano Festival, where he played Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Mariinsky Orchestra. In 2020 the artist appeared in a series of Kawai concerts in Germany (Düsseldorf, Krefeld, Lindenberg). In 2023 he participated in the Darmstadt Piano Festival of the German Chopin Society.
The musician is a senior lecturer at the Department of Special Piano at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.
