Suah Ye


Piano

Suah Ye was born in Seoul in 2000. She has studied with Soo-Jung Shin and Aviram Reichert in South Korea, and currently studies with Arie Vardi at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover since 2017.

Winner of the 9th International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians (Novosibirsk, 2015) and the 1st Arthur Rubinstein International Youth Piano Competition (Beijing, 2016). Laureate of the 16th Seoul International Music Competition (2020–2021; 2nd prize and prize for the best performance of a sonata by Beethoven) and the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow – St Petersburg, 2023; 4th prize).

Has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia (Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra), the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra and the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion. Has played at such prestigious venues as the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Grand Hall of the St Petersburg Philharmonia, the Seoul Arts Center, the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Salle Cortot in Paris, Beijing’s Forbidden City Concert Hall and New York’s Carnegie Hall.

She served as a junior jury member at the 15th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition (Tel Aviv, 2017) and a jury member at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians (Moscow – Chengdu (China), 2022).
