Born in Rostov-on-Don. In 2013 he graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Nadezhda Drozdova-Weiner).
While a student, at the conservatoire’s theatre he performed the roles of Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Ibn-Hakia (Iolanta) and Giorgio Germont (La traviata).

From 2013 to 2023 the artist was a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers. He made his Mariinsky Theatre debut in 2014, appearing in Musorgsky’s Salammbô. Since 2024 Yaroslav Petryanik has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Opera Company.

Together with singers of the Academy he appeared in a series of concert performances of Soviet operas and operettas including Antonio Spadavecchia’s The Gadfly (Martini), Dmitry Shostakovich’s Moscow, Cheryomushki (Boris Karetsky), Tikhon Khrennikov’s Into the Storm (Listrat), Vissarion Shebalin’s The Taming of the Shrew (Petruchio) and Dmitry Kabalevsky’s Colas Breugnon (title role).

In 2015, he sung title role of Rubinstein’s Demon at the Vladikavkaz Opera and Ballet Theatre. This season Yaroslav Petryanik appeared as Prince Nikita Kurlyatev in David Pountney’s production of The Enchantress at the Teatro di San Carlo.
