Nadezhda Serdyuk graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (class of Professor Galina Pisarenko, People’s Artist of Russia) in 1997.

During 1997–2000 she was a soloist at the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow.

From 1998 to 2007 Nadezhda Serdyuk was a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers. Since 2007 she has been a soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre.

At the Mariinsky Theatre Nadezhda Serdyuk has taken part in the world premiere of David Krivitsky’s opera Doctor Zhivago (2019) and in the first St Petersburg performance of the opera Andrea Chénier (2022). She has toured with the Mariinsky Opera Company to New York (Metropolitan Opera), London (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden), Paris (Théâtre du Châtelet), Milan (La Scala), Washington (Kennedy Center), Tokyo, Madrid, Amsterdam and Baden-Baden, and has sung at the Mikkeli Music Festival (Finland).

In addition to participating in Mariinsky Theatre productions and concerts, Nadezhda Serdyuk also appeared as Ulrica (Un ballo in maschera), Rosina (Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia), Leonora (La favorita), Albine (Thaïs), Orfeo (Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice), Bacco (Giovanni Alberto Ristori’s Arianna), Anna Kennedy (Maria Stuarda), Pisana (I due Foscari), the First Maid (Elektra), Death (Le Rossignol), Joan of Arc (The Maid of Orleans), Nadezhda Nasonova (The Noblewoman Vera Sheloga) and the Mistress of the Inn (Boris Godunov), and performed the solo roles in Bach’s Magnificat, Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody, Scriabin’s First Symphony, Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky and Songs of Our Days, Saint-Saëns’ Requiem and Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater.

Has taken part in a production of Prokofiev’s opera The Love for Three Oranges in Aix-en-Provence (2004), Luxembourg (2005) and Madrid (2006). In the 2008–09 season she performed the roles of Albine (Thaïs) and Polina (The Queen of Spades) at the Teatro Regio (Turin).

Has collaborated with many renowned contemporary conductors, among them Valery Gergiev, Gianandrea Noseda, Andris Nelsons, Yevgeny Kolobov, Tugan Sokhiev, Yuri Bashmet, Saulus Sondeckis, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Michael Tilson Thomas, Helmuth Rilling, Hans Graf, Jakub Hrůša, Daniele Rustioni, Paolo Carignani.

The singer’s discography includes recordings of the operas The Gambler (Mariinsky label), Boris Godunov, The Love for Three Oranges, Suor Angelica and Thaïs and Mozart’s Requiem.
