Gamid Abdulov was born in 1995 in Ivanovo. In 2013 he graduated from the Secondary Music School named after Bulbul in Baku, where he studied composition, music theory and academic singing. That same year the artist entered the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (where he studied composition under Grigory Korchmar). Gamid went on to study at the Elena Obraztsova International Academy of Music (St Petersburg) under Yevgeny Akimov.
From 2018 to 2022 he was a fellow of the Atkins Young Artists Program at the Mariinsky Theatre. The singer made his Mariinsky Theatre debut in 2018, appearing in a concert. In April 2019 he has performed Mahler’s song cycle Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, in October the same year he has sung the part of Schaunard in La bohème and the part of Pelléas at the premiere of a new Mariinsky Theatre production of Pelléas et Mélisande. In 2019 Gamid Abdulov has also appeared at the III International Caucasian Festival Mariinsky – Vladikavkaz, performing the roles of Pelléas and Schaunard.
