Gevorg Grigoryan was born in Russia. In 2009 he graduated from the Rostov State Rachmaninoff Conservatoire (class of Pyotr Makarov). The singer completed internships in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Simultaneously he took lessons from Christopher Underwood, head of the Vocal Department at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (Glasgow). Has participated in masterclasses with Rolando Villazón, Ruggero Raimondi, Beatrice Uria-Monzon and Sandrine Piau.

During 2008–2009 Gevorg Grigoryan was a soloist with the Rostov State Musical Theatre (performing the role of King René in Iolanta and the title role in Aleko). In 2009 he was a soloist with the Lipetsk State Philharmonic, and in 2010 – an intern at the National Centre for Professional Training of Opera Singers (Marseille). During 2010–2011 the artist was a guest soloist at St Petersburg’s Mikhailovsky Theatre, where he appeared as Colline (La bohème) and Prince Gremin (Eugene Onegin).

In 2011 he began his international career, performing with the Orchestre national de Cannes and singing the bass part in Mozart’s Requiem. In the 2012–13 season he appeared at Antwerp’s Flemish Opera, portraying Prince Galitsky (Prince Igor), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Leporello and Masetto (Don Giovanni), Ramfis (Aida), Sparafucile and Count Monterone (Rigoletto), King René and Bertrand (Iolanta), Silvano (Un ballo in maschera), Méphistophélès and Brander (La Damnation de Faust), Zoroastro (Handel’s Orlando), Lesbo (Agrippina), Zaccaria (Nabucco), the Speaker of the Temple, the First Priest and the Second Man in Armour (Die Zauberflöte), the Doctor, the Third Inquisitor, the Judge and Stanislaus (Bernstein’s Candide), the Second Knight of the Grail (Parsifal) and Colline.

Since 2019 Gevorg Grigoryan has been a soloist at the St Petersburg Chamber Opera, where he has performed the roles of Osmin (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Orestes (Elektra), Ferrando (Il trovatore), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), the Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Sarastro and the Speaker of the Temple (Die Zauberflöte), Dr Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro), Raymond Bidebent (Lucia di Lammermoor), Oroveso (Norma), Méphistophélès and Brander (La Damnation de Faust), Prince Temruk (Bizet’s Ivan the Terrible), Chub (The Tsar’s Bride), the Bonze (Madama Butterfly), Sparafucile, Count Monterone and Prince Gremin among others.
In 2021 he participated in the premiere of a production of the opera Fidelio at St Petersburg’s Hermitage Theatre, portraying Pizarro.
Has also performed the roles of Rodomonte (Haydn’s Orlando paladino), Kaspar (Der Freischütz), the Old Gypsy (Aleko), the bass parts in Bach’s Matthäus-Passion and Magnificat, Handel’s Messiah, Verdi’s Requiem and others.

He made his debut at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2023, appearing as Don Pasquale.
