Andrei Ivanov is a jazz double bassist, composer and producer. He graduated from the Gnessin State Music Pedagogical Institute. He has combined jazz and classical music thought, and thus has opened up the possibility of using the jazz double bass as solo instrument. He tours with his brother Mikhail Ivanov (piano) in Russia and abroad. He has performed with the Moscow State Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the New Russia and Moscow Virtuosi orchestras, as well as with Denis Matsuev, Georgy Garanyan, Igor Butman and David Goloshchekin.
Ivanov is an Honoured Artist of Russia, recipient of the City of Moscow Prize (2010) for Literature and Culture, and the Moscow Prize for Culture (2013).
