Born in Leningrad in 1979, Vorontsov entered the Leningrad State Conservatory in 1989 (V.M. Buyanovsky's class). Since 1991, Vorontsov has worked at the Mariinsky Theater; he was an intern until 1992, the regulator until 1993, and the leading soloist of the horn group since 1993.
Dmitry Vorontsov is a regular participant of the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra tours, as well as of its opera and ballet troupe, and international festivals, such as Rotterdam Philharmonic-Gergiev Festival (Holland), Mikkeli Music Festival (Finland), The Stars of the White Nights International Musical Festival, and Moscow Easter Festival.
