Born in Adana, Turkey, in 1996, Veriko Tchumburidze began her education at Mersin University State Conservatory. In 2004, she won the Gülden Turalı National Violin Competition, and in 2006 – the Georgian National Competition. In 2012, she won the 1st prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. Since 2010, she continued her studies with Dora Schwarzberg at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Wien. At the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in München, which she entered at the age of 19, Tchumburidze is a student of Ana Chumachenco.
In 2013, the Turkish music magazine Andante awarded Tchumburidze the title of the country’s “Best Emerging Musician”. The same year she was invited to participate in the Seiji Ozawa Academy Master Сlass and the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. In 2014 she was selected by Orpheum Musik Stiftung Zürich to release a CD series with the Munich Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Howard Griffiths. In January 2016, she recorded John Williams’ music to Schindler’s List with the Brandenburgisches Kammerorchester and Howard Griffiths for Sony Classics. Tchumburidze has played with international orchestras such as the Züricher Kammerorchester, the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester, and the St Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra among others.
In June 2016, as a member of Trio Arte ensemble, she was awarded the 1st prize in chamber music category at the Pietro Argento International Music Competition in Italy. In October 2016 she won the 1st prize at the International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poznan (Poland).
Since 2016, she has been playing a 1756 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin generously provided by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
