Violin
Hugo Ticciati is of Italian descent though he was born in Great Britain; he began to study the violin in London, later continuing his studies at the University of Toronto and in Sweden. At the age of twelve he made his debuts at the Edinburgh Festival and the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. He has appeared with various orchestras throughout Great Britain, the USA, Sweden, Romania, Estonia, Japan and South Korea and given recitals in Italy, Germany, the Far East and throughout Scandinavia. Prize-winner at international competitions in Italy (2002 and 2004). In 2007 he defended his dissertation at the Royal School of Music in London. In 2010 he became Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Festival held at the theatre of Ulriksdal Palace (Sweden). Has recorded for radio and television in Sweden, Hong Kong, China, Armenia and Taiwan. Gives master-classes and seminars in New Zealand, South Korea, Russia, Mexico, Japan, Italy and Taiwan. Collaborates with numerous contemporary composers. Performs the Baron Knoop violin made by Vincenzo Ruggieri (Cremona, 1700).
