Richard Trimborn (1932–2017) worked as a coach and consultant in Bayreuth and the Bayerische Staatsoper. He was engaged in international projects, coaching works from the German opera repertoire in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, France, Italy, Great Britain, Bulgaria, USA, Japan and China. Over the course of his artistic career he collaborated with such conductors as Karl Böhm, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Daniel Barenboim, Claudio Abbado, Wolfgang Sawallisch. Richard Trimborn took part in a production of the opera Boris Godunov under Valery Gergiev at the Bayerische Staatsoper and prepared the original (St Petersburg) version of the opera La forza del destino along with Giuseppe Sinopoli. As one of the leading international specialists in Richard Wagner's repertoire Mr Trimborn was invited by the Mariinsky Theatre. He was involved in productions of the Ring cycle (2000–2003), Tristan und Isolde (2005), Die Frau ohne Schatten (2009). He also prepared concert performances of Parsifal, Fidelio and Elektra.
