Viktoria Zlotnikova was born in Leningrad. In 1995 she graduated from St Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy.
Began her career in television – as an assistant and subsequently as a director, she was involved in the organisation of various show projects. As a video designer she has participated in the creation of productions of Tchaikovsky (the Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre), Laurencia, Flames of Paris, Le Corsaire, Eugene Onegin and Brundibár (the Mikhailovsky Theatre), Carmen and The Nutcracker (the Kazakh State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Abay), Cinderella (the Yekaterinburg State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre), The Little Prince and Orr and Ora (the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus), Otello and Alice Through the Looking Glass (the Zazerkalye theatre, St Petersburg), Iolanta (the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre) and the musical Monte Cristo (the Moscow Operetta Theatre). Has also collaborated with the St Petersburg Chamber Opera, the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theatre, the St Petersburg State Musical Comedy Theatre, the Kulyash Baiseitova National Opera and Ballet Theatre (Astana, today Nur-Sultan), the Astana Opera, the Chelyabinsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Lensoviet Academic Theatre (St Petersburg) and the International Ballet Festival Dance Open.
Has designed productions of The Nutcracker (2017–2019) and Carmen (2019) at Brussels’ Bozar.
At the Mariinsky Theatre she has worked on productions of the operas Il barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini (2009), Christmas Eve (2014, 2021), A Christmas Tale (2015), The Story of Kai and Gerda (2016), War and Peace (2016), The Diary of Anne Frank (2017), The Maid of Orleans (2021) and the operetta Die Fledermaus (2020).
