At a young age, the twin sisters Ferhan and Ferzan Onder established themselves as one of the most promising piano duos of the next generation on the world’s concert circuit by means of their electrifying performances. They began playing the piano aged just ten. Four years later, they won the Special Jury Award at the International Duo Competition in Terni (Italy). Following a succession of further awards, Ferhan and Ferzan won 1st prize at the International Piano Duo Competition in Hamburg. Extensive concert tours have subsequently taken the pianists throughout Europe, the Far East and America. They have performed in New York (Guggenheim), London (Wigmore Hall), Leipzig (Gewandhaus), Stuttgart (Liederhalle), Hamburg (Musikhalle), Berlin (Philharmonie), Bremen (Die Glocke), Zurich (Tonhalle), Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Cologne (Philharmonie), Barcelona (Palau de la Musica), Istanbul, Tokyo (Suntory Hall), Taipei, Salzburg and their hometown of Vienna (Musikverein and Konzerthaus). The twins have been invited to perform at various music festivals including the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Salzburg Festival, the Beethoven Festival Bonn, the Wiener Festwochen, the Mozartfest, the Istanbul and Eskişehir Festivals and the Ludwigsburger, Heidelberger and Weilburger Schlossfestspiele. In 2003, they performed together with Sir Peter Ustinov at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and at the Voestiva Festival in Linz. Other musical and literary projects led to collaborations with Cornelia Froboess, Armin Muller-Stahl, Friedrich von Thun, Gunther Jauch and Roger Willemsen. In 2003 they were appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors.
