About the performers

The Jazz Chorus of the Sverdlovsk State Children’s Philharmonic was founded in 1988 and consists of two hundred members aged from four to eighteen.
The chorus’ repertoire includes not just jazz but also classical, folkloric and contemporary music. The ensemble frequently tours throughout Russia and Europe. Since it was founded, the chorus has been to China, Belgium, Romania, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain.
The ensemble has been a prize-winner at the European Competition of Children’s and Youth Choruses in Neerpelt (1st prize and Summa Cum Laude award, 2010), the International Chorus Competirion in Montreux (1st prize and Prize for the Best Performance of a Compulsory Work2011), the International Chorus Competition in Verona (Grand-Prix, 2012), the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod Competition in Great Britain (two Gold Medals and Silver Medal, 2013), the International Seghizzi Chorus Competition in Gorizia (three Gold and two Silver Medals) and the World Chorus Olympics in Riga (Gold Medal). In 2015 the chorus appeared at the Feel Russia festival of Russian culture in Milan.
